Let Bygones be Bygones

Picture

Let bygones be forgotten, let bygones be gone,
Don't let them pull your strings, don't become their pawn.

They'll pull you under, drown your spirit, and darken up your soul,
Take you down and rid your color, and age will take its toll.

Let lessons be learned and methods be forgotten,
Stick to all things fresh and new, be rid of all that's rotten.

Let broken bones be healed, acknowledge they'll last even longer,
Forget the how and who did the breaking, appreciate you're stronger.

Release those bricks upon your shoulder, placed on there by others,
Fight the pain with loving thoughts; treat all like sisters and brothers.

Understand that the world is complex and diverse,
Don't hold your self back, don't go in reverse.

Dream for the future, live in the now, it’s the only way to be,
Look for silver linings; they’re always there to see.
